Ingredients:

  • 250g chow mein noodles
  • 2 chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 2 cups cabbage, shredded
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Directions:

  1. Cook the chow mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the sliced chicken breasts to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sliced onion. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  5. Add the sliced bell pepper, julienned carrot, and shredded cabbage to the skillet. Stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  6. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet with the vegetables.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil. Pour the sauce over the chicken and vegetables in the skillet. Stir well to combine and coat everything evenly with the sauce.
  8. Add the cooked chow mein noodles to the skillet and toss everything together until the noodles are heated through and well coated with the sauce.
  9. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  10. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
