Dive into the vibrant flavors of freshly made pomegranate juice with this simple and revitalizing recipe. Bursting with antioxidants and natural sweetness, this beverage is a perfect way to indulge in a healthy treat.
Ingredients:
- 2 large ripe pomegranates
- Cold water
- Ice cubes (optional)
- Sweetener of your choice (optional, to taste)
Directions:
- Prepare the pomegranates by slicing them in half horizontally.
- Hold each half over a bowl, cut side down, and gently tap the back of the pomegranate with a spoon to release the seeds (arils). Collect all the seeds in the bowl.
- Once all the seeds are extracted, transfer them to a blender.
- Blend the pomegranate seeds on high speed until they form a smooth puree.
- Place a fine mesh sieve over a pitcher or bowl and pour the puree through it, using a spoon to press out as much juice as possible while leaving behind any solids.
- If desired, add cold water to the juice to dilute it to your preferred strength. You can also add ice cubes to chill it further.
- Taste the juice and add sweetener, such as honey or sugar, if desired. Stir well to combine.
- Serve the freshly made pomegranate juice immediately in glasses filled with ice, if desired, and enjoy the burst of flavor and goodness!
Note: Pomegranate juice can stain, so be cautious while handling the fruits and the juice extraction process. Wear an apron or old clothing to avoid staining.
