Classic Shrimp Scampi Recipe

  • 1 pound (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons (56g) unsalted butter

  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) chopped fresh parsley

  1. Start by preparing your shrimp. Make sure they are peeled, deveined, and patted dry with paper towels. Season them lightly with salt and black pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once the butter is melted and begins to sizzle, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using). Sauté the garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute, being careful not to burn it.
