Beef Tips with Mushroom Sauce Recipe

A hearty and flavorful dish featuring tender beef tips smothered in a savory mushroom sauce. Perfect for a cozy dinner at home or for entertaining guests.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef sirloin tips, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced (any variety you prefer)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef tips and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they are tender and browned, about 5 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the mushroom mixture and stir to coat. Cook for 1-2 minutes to cook out the raw flour taste.
  5. Slowly pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until it thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper to taste. Return the beef tips to the skillet and simmer for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the beef is heated through and the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.
  7. Serve the beef tips and mushroom sauce hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired. Enjoy with mashed potatoes, rice, or your favorite side dish.
