Greek Chicken Meatballs Recipe

These flavorful chicken meatballs are packed with fresh herbs and spices for a delicious Greek twist on a classic dish. Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce or nestled in a bed of rice and veggies for a complete meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, red onion, garlic, dill, mint, olive oil, egg, oregano, thyme, cumin, salt, and pepper. Use your hands to gently mix until everything is well combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatballs tough.
  2. Shape the mixture into evenly sized meatballs, about 1-inch in diameter.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add a tablespoon of olive oil and swirl to coat the pan. Once hot, add the meatballs and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through. You may need to cook the meatballs in batches depending on the size of your skillet.
  4. An internal thermometer inserted into the center of a meatball should read 165°F (74°C) for safe consumption.
  5. Serve the Greek chicken meatballs immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, or over a bed of rice and vegetables.
