This recipe combines juicy steak and succulent shrimp bathed in a rich and flavorful garlic cream sauce. It’s a decadent and impressive dinner that’s surprisingly easy to make at home!

  • For the Steak:
    • 2 steaks (such as filet mignon, New York strip, or ribeye)
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • For the Shrimp:
    • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
    • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 3 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1/2 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  1. Prepare the Steak: Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side, or until desired doneness is reached. Transfer the steaks to a plate and tent loosely with foil to keep warm.
  2. Cook the Shrimp: In the same skillet (discard any excess drippings), heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp, parsley, and paprika. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside with the steaks.
  3. Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce: Reduce heat to medium and add butter to the skillet. Melt the butter and then add the minced garlic. Cook for 30 seconds, stirring constantly, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Deglaze the Pan: Pour in the white wine or chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let the mixture simmer for 1-2 minutes, allowing the alcohol to cook off (if using white wine).
  5. Thicken the Sauce: Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until thickened slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Assemble and Serve: Plate the steaks and shrimp. Spoon the creamy garlic sauce over the top. Garnish with fresh parsley or chopped chives, if desired.
