Pasta Salad Recipe

This recipe is a great base for a delicious and refreshing pasta salad. You can customize it with your favorite ingredients to create a side dish that’s perfect for any potluck, BBQ, or summer gathering.

  • 1 pound (454 g) uncooked pasta (such as rotini, penne, or fusilli)
  • 3 cups chopped vegetables (such as cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, red onion)
  • 1 cup chopped deli meat or cooked sausage (optional)
  • 1/2 cup crumbled cheese (such as mozzarella, feta, or parmesan)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs (such as parsley, basil, or oregano)
  • 1/2 cup salad dressing (such as Italian, vinaigrette, or Greek yogurt ranch)

  1. Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
  2. While the pasta cooks, chop your vegetables, deli meat (if using), and cheese.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, chopped vegetables, deli meat (if using), cheese, and herbs.
  4. Pour the salad dressing over the pasta salad and toss to coat evenly.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

  • For a creamier pasta salad, use a mayonnaise-based dressing.
  • You can add other ingredients to this salad, such as olives, artichoke hearts, or cooked chickpeas.
  • If you’re making the salad ahead of time, wait to add the dressing until just before serving to prevent the pasta from becoming soggy.

Enjoy your delicious homemade pasta salad!
