  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¼ cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients.
  3. Pour in the milk, melted butter, and egg.
  4. Mix just until the batter is combined. Do not overmix! A few lumps are perfectly fine.
  5. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or pan over medium-high heat.
  6. Pour about ¼ cup of batter per pancake onto the griddle.
  7. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until bubbles appear on the surface of the pancakes and the edges begin to dry.
  8. Flip the pancakes and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown on the bottom.
  9. Serve immediately with butter and maple syrup, and enjoy!
