Crispy Chicken Wings Recipe

This recipe will give you wings that are juicy on the inside and irresistibly crispy on the outside.

  • 1 kg (2.2 lbs) chicken wings
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Your favorite wing sauce (optional)

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This is a crucial step for getting crispy wings!
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the baking powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Toss the chicken wings in the spice mixture until evenly coated.
  5. Arrange the wings in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Leave space between each wing for even air circulation.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. (Optional) For extra crispy wings, crank the oven temperature to 450°F (230°C) for the last 5 minutes of baking.
  8. Remove the wings from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before tossing them in your favorite wing sauce, if desired.

  • You can adjust the spice level of this recipe to your preference. For a spicier wing, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the spice mixture.
  • If you don’t have baking powder, you can substitute cornstarch, but the wings won’t be quite as crispy.
  • Leftover wings can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat them in the oven or air fryer until crispy.
