Crack Cake Recipe

This addictively delicious cake is super moist and bursting with flavor. The secret ingredient? White wine!


  • 1 box vanilla cake mix
  • 1 (3.4oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 4 eggs
  • ¾ cup water
  • ¾ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup white wine (any kind will work)


  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a bundt pan or 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the cake mix, pudding mix, sugars, and cinnamon.
  3. Add the eggs, water, oil, and white wine. Beat until well combined, but be careful not to overmix.
  4. Pour the batter into your prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. While the cake cools, prepare the glaze (optional, but highly recommended!):
    • In a saucepan, melt 1 stick of butter.
    • Stir in 1 cup of sugar and ¼ cup of white wine.
    • Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture becomes smooth. Do not boil!
  7. Once the cake is cool, pour the glaze over the top.
  8. Let cool completely before slicing and serving.
