Broccoli Apple Salad Recipe

This refreshing and flavorful salad is a perfect side dish for any summer potluck or barbecue. The sweetness of the apples and dried fruit perfectly complements the broccoli florets, and the creamy dressing ties everything together.

  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets (about 2 medium heads)
  • 1/2 cup chopped red onion
  • 2 large apples, chopped (Gala or Granny Smith apples work well)
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries or raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts, or almonds)
  • For the dressing:
    • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
    • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
    • 1 tablespoon sugar (or honey)
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  1. Prepare the broccoli: Wash and chop the broccoli florets into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Chop remaining ingredients: Thinly slice the red onion, chop the apples, and chop the nuts.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the broccoli florets, chopped red onion, chopped apples, dried cranberries or raisins, and chopped nuts.
  4. Make the dressing: In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, sugar, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
  5. Assemble the salad: Pour the dressing over the broccoli mixture and toss to coat evenly.
  6. Chill and serve: Refrigerate the salad for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld. Enjoy!
