Baked Potato Recipe

This recipe creates perfectly baked potatoes with fluffy insides and crispy skins.


  • 4 Russet potatoes (medium size)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt, or more to taste
  • Optional: black pepper


  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (optional).
  2. Scrub the potatoes clean with running water and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  3. Using a fork, pierce each potato 10-12 times all over.
  4. Rub the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle generously with salt. Add black pepper for an extra kick (optional).
  5. Place the potatoes on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the potatoes are easily pierced through with a fork and the skins appear crisp.
  6. Remove the potatoes from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before slicing them open. Fluff the insides with a fork and enjoy them plain or with your favorite toppings!
