Baked Meatballs with Cheese Recipe

This recipe is a perfect weeknight dinner – easy to prepare and sure to please the whole family!


  • 1 pound ground beef (or a combination of ground beef and pork)
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese


  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, egg, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined.
  3. Roll the mixture into 1-inch meatballs. Place the meatballs in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs, making sure they are evenly coated.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce is bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the top.
  7. Bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  8. Serve immediately with your favorite pasta, rice, or bread.
